Scenario: An organization that serves people who are homeless has a very ambitious goal of ending homelessness in Portland within the next 10 years. It realizes that it can’t do so unless it mobilizes many, many people across the entire city into action. It hopes to start an awareness/action campaign throughout the entire Portland community and partner with other groups who have experience working on homeless issues and mobilizing political action.
Assignment: Identify social media strategies that can be used to spark community mobilization around this issue by interest groups/other organizations/citizens. Identify what action is sought from groups and citizens, and how social media tools can be utilized in taking action.
Example Organizations: Outside In, Human Solutions, Council for the Homeless (Vancouver), Operation Nighwatch, Bus Project
