Was there anything you wanted more clarification about during Beth's talk that you didn't get to ask about at the event?
Q: I suppose the most difficult thing for me, a complete social networking newbie, is how the articulate the value to a board of directors or others who can't agree to the time committment it takes to establish a sticky online presence. Any guidance there?
A1: I remember Beth suggested showing her graph of how different groups of people use the internet. It clearly demonstrates that social networking is the biggest growing segment, especially among younger people (your future donors). All of this depends on your current online presence. If your org already has invested some time and resources into creating this, then you are already on the path. If not, start there, get that infrastructure in place, operating efficiently, then grow it with social media tools. In terms of "stickiness", I suggest reading a book called Made to Stick? I just discovered this book, and it's getting great reviews. Read a review here: [1].
Good luck,
